AnyWave Fiberbench Mode Control Optomechanics

A scientist centric approach

Introduced in 2009 for single mode polarization control and in 2012 , Fiberbench evolved into a powerful modular fiber optomechanics system for fiber optic polarization control and spatiotemporal mode scrambling.

This novel approach to manufacturing our products is simple to adapt for user specific requirements.
Our products can be unique for each customers without development cost in most cases, even in single quantity.

Serving the non telecom industries

Fiber optic polarization control technologies developed so far are available from telecom markets to suit most applications for 1300-1600 nm operation. Speed, reliability and performance of the available products makes for a well-served saturated market.

However there is limited component availability at non telecom wavelengths. Optimization and economies of scale not applicable; making non telecom fiber usage too expensive to implement.

Low volume applications are left orphan; such as scientific applications from optical coherence tomography, astronomy, microscopy, biophotonics, remote sensing, quantum optics, interferometry etc.

In 2008, development of a novel approach for Telecom T&M was needed to implement single ended PMD measurements instruments requiring better Poincare pace coverage characteristics than available.

The principles developed for this application are applied transparently to any silica fiber enabling polarization control to any SM wavelength and is used in FDA approved surgical OCT as early adopter.

Furthermore, the principles are developed as a flexible fiber optomechanics platform capable of using diverse SM and MM fibers with small and large core for whole bandpass modal control in silica, fluoride glass, chalcogenides, etc. in solid or hollow core waveguides form.
Emerging materials such as semi-conductor core fibers should be compatible with existing optomechanics or require minimal adaptation.
